Recruiting: Longhorns Nab Top Linebacker

Mack Brown rebounds from last night's loss to Colorado by picking up a pledge from the state's top linebacker, North Mesquite's Aaron Harris.

Aaron was wearing his T-shirt when he answered the phone.

"I actually committed yesterday," Harris told HR just moments ago.

Harris was asked about the timing of his commitment.

"It was the best thing for me," he continued. "I just felt in my heart that Texas was the best fit."

In the middle of our conversation, Harris received a call from A&M assistant J.B. Grimes. HR asked how that conversation went.

"Coach Grimes just said he was both suprised and disappointed about me committing this early," Harris said.

Nicknamed the "Human Tackling Machine", Harris recorded 132 tackles with three interceptions, three caused fumbles and four fumble recoveries in only nine games.

He has cancelled his visits to A&M and Oklahoma.

He is ranked third overall in-state by and is on HR's Texas Super Team.
