Recruiting: Jenks Star DE Chooses Longhorns

For the second consecutive day the Longhorns pick up a National Top 100 player in Jenks (OK) DE Bryan Pickryl.

"I just felt it was the best decision for me," Pickryl told HR on Monday afternoon. "I like what I see for my future there."

Pickryl, 6-6, 225, 4.5, was asked what position he will be playing in Austin.

"They'll start me out at defensive end," he continued. "It depends on how much bigger I get in the next couple of years. I could be moved inside, but I do like to play outside right now."

Pickryl and his teammates just polished off another championship season, defeating Putnam City North this past weekend.

"I don't have all my stats yet," he said. "But I know that I had around seven sacks for the season."

He chose the Longhorns over Missouri and Oklahoma.

Pickryl played through the season with an injured right shoulder, one he'll have surgery on December 10th.
