Recruiting: Roy Miller Update

Killeen Shoemaker DT Roy Miller committed to the Oklahoma Sooners in the month of June but recent rumors have him now considering (Big 12 South rival) the Texas Longhorns. We caught up with Roy to get his two cents...

Roy Miller recently told OUInsider that he is firm to Oklahoma. Yet, rumors persist that he still has at least some interest in the Longhorns.

"I'm going to sign with OU," the Shoemaker DT said. "My commitment is firm. Texas and OU were the top two. I picked OU and look forward to signing with them."

Miller's reasons for selecting the Crimson and Cream?

"I just think they are the best Big 12 team and I think that I can play early there," said the 6-2, 295-pounder. "That's something I would like to do. I'd like to play as a freshman."

As for the Horns, Miller said, "Texas has been recruiting me pretty hard, sending me a lot of UPS stuff. But with the August workouts, things have slowed. I acknowledge Texas as a good program and one that I wouldn't mind playing for. But I think I've done enough research (on the schools) and I think I made the best decision."
