Recruiting: Conversation with Eric Winston

It comes as no real surprise that the big tight end from Midland Lee had an outstanding visit to Miami this past weekend.

HR: "Eric, thanks for calling me back."

 Eric: "No problem."

HR: "OK, was it as good as all the other kids I've talked to this weekend said it was?"

Eric: "It was a great trip. (OL) Bryant McKinnie and (TE) Jeremy Shockey were my guest hosts. The campus and facilities were really nice."

HR: "So Miami is under definite consideration?"

Eric: "Oh, yeah. It's going to be a tough decision."

HR: "Exactly what did the coaches say they wanted to play you, position-wise?"

Eric: "More as a true tight end. But that's what Jeremy really plays right now. The coaches said they would love to move Jeremy into an H-back type of position in order to put him in motion and move him around more. Of course, he'll be a senior next year and is very familiar with the offense, so that won't be a problem for him."

HR: "What are your plans now? Any more visits?"

Eric: "I really don't know. I'm going to take some time off for Christmas and think about it. I may or may not take any more trips. I might be tired of the process by then. I'll just have to wait and see."

HR: "Eric, thanks for the update and have a Happy Holiday."

 Eric: "Same to you."
