Recruiting: One Young down, one to go

Texas landed commitment No. 21 late this afternoon with the verbal pledge of Jersey Village RB Selvin Young.

Young tripped to Austin last weekend for UT's Football Banquet after visiting Norman the previous weekend. The two trips presented him with all he needed to make his choice.

"I have always wanted to go to Texas since I was young," the 5-11, 190-pounder with 4.41 speed told TheInsiders.com's OU affiliate. "I was really thinking hard about Oklahoma, until I took my visit there recently and I just realized that I Texas was the place where I always dreamed of playing."

The Horns also hope to land another Young, QB Vincent Young. The Houston Madison signal caller has scheduled a visit to Miami for the weekend of Jan. 18 and has said he will schedule for January official visits to both Texas and Arkansas. Vincent Young is the No. 1 player in the state according to Heartland Recruiting. On that same list, Selvin Young is the No. 19 overall prospect in the state.
