State's No. 1 Moving Texas Up

Having already touched on several topics of importance in our "Breaking It Down" two-part series with Reggie Youngblood, we caught up with the Houston Washington OT to see if OU and Miami were still Co-No. 1s? The 6-5, 285-pounder took an unofficial visit to Austin this past weekend to check out the Texas-Texas A&M game...

Asked what he thought about the visit to Austin to see the annual Texas-Texas A&M rivalry game, Reginald Youngblood said, "Man, it was cool. It was a great game. And, I had a great time. My mom too."

Just when we thought we had it all broken down, here comes the "momma" factor...

"She loved it," said the 6-5, 285-pound lineman. "She loves Austin and she really likes UT."

The state's No. 1 said he spoke with "Coach Brown and Coach McWhorter -- the whole offensive line -- and Frank Okam."

And, Okam's best pitch?

"He was just telling me it's a good place to be. That if I want to come play against the best defensive lineman in college, that's the place."

So where do his list of favorites stand today?

"I really liked the trip to Texas and you have to put them up there with OU and Miami," Youngblood shared. "Right now, I have to say that it's a 3-way tie going into my official visits."

With his first three official visits already lined up for LSU (Dec 3-5), Miami (Dec 10-12) and Oklahoma (Dec 17-19), has he made any headway with regard to scheduling his official visits to Tennessee and Texas?

"No, I haven't," Youngblood said. "But Coach McWhorter and Coach Haywood are coming in this Wednesday for an in-home. We'll probably set up the date then."
