Roy Miller Sets Up Official Visit

Killeen Shoemaker DT Roy Miller is a prospect to watch and is currently rated No. 20 on the Scout.com Texas Hot 100. His wide-bodied frame and short-area burst/ quickness, not to mention his weight room work ethic, has two Big 12 South powers doing their best to land his Signing Day signature. He visits with Scout.com about the status of his commitment to OU (soft verbal) and and which school will collect his next official visit and the weekend that is set up for...

"I'm still committed to Oklahoma," Roy Miller told Scout.com. "But I want to compare my official visit to OU to some other schools. Basically, I want to make sure that I am making the best decision I can and I'm not sure I can do that if I only visit OU (officially)."

Next on the agenda for the 4-star DT will be an official visit to Texas on Mack Brown and Co's. Banquet Weekend....

"I set up an official visit to Texas December the 10th," Miller said. "I'm mostly talking to (Texas defensive coordinator/linebackers) Coach Robinson. He's the main coach recruiting me. He came by the school today and so we set up an official visit."

That official visit, Miller said, is in large part because "I want to make an informed decision. Right now, I think I can say for sure, that it's between Texas and Oklahoma, but I think I'm going to take another official visit or two after I go to UT because I want to be sure that I have gone through the entire process."

His commitment to OU will be updated as a "soft" verbal as the Longhorns have made up a lot of ground here of late.

Asked about his unofficial to the Forty Acres this past weekend, Miller said, "I had a good time. But I've been to a few games before so I already know what that's like."

He did, however, take something home with him from that trip from members of the Longhorns football team.

"You know, everyone I talked to just talks about how good it is to be there. And, how great of a place it is to be at. So, I think I should check it out officially."

He'll do exactly that December 10-12 and Scout.com we'll be on top of it...
