Larry Dibbles, one of the standouts of the Horns' outstanding '02 recruiting class, tripped to Notre Dame over the weekend, but the visit didn't result in a change of the DE's Orangeblood heart.
The Lancaster native, who committed to Mack Brown
and the Horns on Christmas Day, said the Irish coaches felt they had a good shot at receiving a late holiday gift of their own by swaying him to play in South Bend, but ultimately Notre Dame did not measure up to Texas.
"It was a good trip, a decent trip and I enjoyed being there and meeting coach (Tyrone) Willingham," Dibbles told IT Sunday night, "but I'm still committed to Texas 100-percent. Notre Dame is a nice program but it is no comparison to The University of Texas."
"We're going to win a national championship (at UT) in the next couple of years," Dibbles added.
Dibbles said he does not plan to take any other visits.
