"He's committed to the University of Texas," Diboll head coach Finis Van Over told Scout.com. "Coach Brown and Coach McWhorter met with him and his family last night. This morning, the Texas coaches called and said (Finley) made a firm commitment and he'll be taking his official visit this weekend after his basketball game Friday night."
"Jermichael's looking forward to being a Longhorn," Van Over continued. "His choices/options were outstanding. And he could not have gone wrong with either Arizona or Texas. At one time he was in love with Arizona. But he's in love with Texas now."
The 6-4, 215-pound two-sport athlete also took the time to speak on the solidity of his commitment.
"I went to the Texas camp over the summer and really liked how the coaches worked the guys," said Finley regarding why he picked the Burnt Orange. "And, really, I've been wanting to go there forever."
Asked what his grandmother had to say on the switch, Finley said, "She said wherever I want to go she'll be right there behind me and that she would be very happy about it. Everybody is cool with it."
The 4-star blue-chipper from Diboll said he also visited with Arizona OL coach Eric Wolford about the final decision to become a Horn.
"I talked to Coach Wolf (Eric Wolford) and told him that I was going to UT."
