Ryan Perrilloux: '...Three schools are even...'

We visited with East St. John All-World QB prospect <b>Ryan Perrilloux</b> and got a few questions answered. Also spoke to his high school coach about <b>Greg Davis'</b> (anti-climactic) visit. Well, over the last week of recruiting nothing is anti-climactic with this 5-star prospect. And, he provides a few new details on his recruitment to date, including contradicting reports that he told <b>Mack Brown</b> face-to-face that he was going to Texas. That and more inside...<p>

"I'm still committed to Texas," Ryan Perrilloux said. "Right now, all three schools are even (LSU, Mississippi State, Texas). I'm not leaning to anyone."

Perrilloux recently came off of a trip to Starkville and he visits with us on that...

"I had a great visit to Mississippi State," said the Scout.com nation's No. 2. "They're putting in new facilities, new locker room, new everything. I have a really good relationship with Coach Croom and they're telling me I can come in and do for them what Mike Vick did for Virginia Tech."

Asked about his in-home with Texas last week, he said, "I had a great visit with Mack Brown. I always have a good time when I talk to him."

Told that sources had him telling Brown face-to-face that he was coming to UT, the 5-star signal caller dismissed that...

"No, I didn't say that to him."

Which begs the question, how firm is his commitment to UT, if he did not give the Horns any reason to feel good about landing his signature?

"UT's a great school, but so is LSU and Mississippi State. I'm still taking my official visit to LSU this weekend and I'll make my decision after that."

Asked about the quotes he recently made in a Louisiana newspaper that had him saying he was going to "shock the world" on Signing Day, Perrilloux said, "What I meant by that was just that. It could mean that I'm going to Texas. A lot of people are saying that I'm going to LSU, so that would be a shock. It could mean that I'm going to go to Mississippi State, and that would shock everybody. It could mean that I'm going to LSU, when I've been committed to Texas the whole time."

Larry Dauterive on Greg Davis coming in yesterday: "He talked with Ryan, went by the house and showed him how to fill out the scholarships so it'll be ready to go in case they get him. He's just doing what everybody else is doing right now."

Other notes from Dauterive: "I have three Mississippi State coaches in my office right now, Ryan will fly to Atlanta tomorrow to give a "State of the Union" address on Fox Sports' Countdown to Signing Day Show that will be taped Thursday and will air Saturday. He'll then go to LSU this weekend after his basketball game Friday, and then, to my knowledge, give a commitment next week. And, I have no idea who that's going to be."

No one else we know has a good idea either, Coach!

Stay tuned...
