Recruiting: Timmons says yes to Texas

Mack Brown put the ice cream on top of the pie of the Longhorn recruiting class by landing talented Flower Mound Marcus wide receiver Robert Timmons.

HR just got off the phone with Flower Mound Marcus head coach Randy Mayes.

"Robert did commit to Texas," coach Mayes confirmed. "Robert came over last night after he got back. The visit went real well. Roy (Williams) was his guest host."

HR was curious how the Dallas Morning News was able to report the Timmons commitment in their Monday edition.

"They showed up at my door step of my house at ten o'clock last night," Randy laughed. "And I want to thank you for all your support of Robert throughout this process."

Timmons managed to catch 46 passes for 651 yards with nine touchdowns in only seven games last season.
