Damian recently visited the UT campus the day after the Longhorns had their most-recent Junior Day. He was unable to venture to Austin for the Junior Day event due to a baseball tournament in Shreveport, La. When he arrived for his visit, he had a chance to speak to the UT coaching staff. "We visited the athletic and academic facilities," Williams said. "The facilities are wonderful and I was very impressed. The entire coaching staff has a genuine kindness and they made me feel very wanted. They knew everything about me, from my name, right down to what my parents' career was. I'm currently being recruited by Coach Kennedy (Recruiting Coordinator/WRs Coach), Coach Chambers (Assistant Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator/Tight Ends), and Coach Bryant (Associate Athletics Director for Football Operations). Coach Kennedy's system is very unique and I could see myself playing in his system. I had the chance to see Limas Sweed while he was in the locker room and he had wonderful things to say about the UT program."
Damian currently has fourteen scholarship offers. "I have been offered by Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Michigan State, Tulsa, Missouri, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Houston, LSU, Iowa, Texas Tech and Clemson." Williams went on to say that he currently has not narrowed the field for his fall official visits.
The highly ranked wideout has been very busy so far in the recruiting process as he has made three unofficial visits. "I have taken unofficial visits to Texas, Arkansas, and Missouri," he said. Due to baseball he has only been able to attend one Junior Day's event. "The only Junior Day event I have been able to attend was at Missouri," Williams said.
Damian has a busy summer planned as he will be going to a few camps. "I will be attending the 7 on 7 at USC in LA, heading to Hoover, Ala. to defend our title as Southeast 7 on 7 Champions, and going to the Tulsa Team Camp."
Currently, Damian's QB and good friend Mitch Mustain is being recruited by UT as well. "Me and Mitch are pretty good friends," he said. "We've grown up together and have known each other for a long time."
You simply can't talk to a Texas wide receiver prospect without asking how he'd enjoy playing with QB Vince Young. When asked what he thought about receiving passes from VY, Damian laughed and said, "That would be amazing. He's a wonderful player that's very quick on his feet and has a great arm. He just has wonderful athleticism and is a great person."
It's safe to say that Damian will be taking a long, hard look at The University of Texas in the coming months and what the program and university has to offer.
Damian is fully qualified.
