Recruiting: Horns In Mix For Big-Time OL

Klein HS OL Chris Stewart has picked up offers from schools around the country. He's currently taking a look at Texas and shared his thoughts with Inside Texas.

Klein HS OL Christopher Stewart is a player who can be a difference maker along the OL. The 6-5, 350-pound big man can bench 390 and squat 500. He has a will to win and all of his hard work is paying off with offers from schools around the country.

Stewart currently claims eleven offers.

"Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Purdue, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Northwestern, LSU, and Houston have all offered me," he said. "I currently have no favorite and I do not have any official visits planned."

"I want to go a school that has very good academics, a good program, and a good environment," Stewart added. "Distance will play no factor in my decision."

In late February, the Houston-area standout attended a Junior Day Event on the Forty Acres.

"It was a great trip," he said. "I really admire the hard work that the UT coaching staff puts into their work. I had the chance to tour the facilities and they are top notch."

Stewart said that what stuck out most to him about the trip was the fact that the Texas coaching staff was so friendly and very easy to talk to.

Stewart is currently being recruited by Texas OL Coach Mac McWhorter and DE Coach Oscar Giles.

"Coach McWhorter and Coach Giles are great guys," he said. "I really get along with them. They are both very intelligent and passionate about their job. I admire that."

Chris has also had the opportunity to speak to Texas Head Coach Mack Brown.

"Coach Brown is a great guy just like Coach Giles and Coach McWhorter," Stewart said. "He is very passionate about his job and is great at what he does."

Stewart is currently qualified.
