Recruiting: Michael Morgan In The Mix At LB

Dallas Skyline LB Michael Morgan is one of the latest prospects to pick up an offer from Texas. He took some time to speak to Inside Texas about his interest in the Longhorns and his college recruitment.

Dallas Skyline LB Mike Morgan, one of the many big-time prospects from the Dallas area, currently lays claim to 15 offers, one of which, Texas, is his latest offer that came on April 9th. "I have been offered by Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Kansas, Duke, Texas A&M, Nebraska, Arkansas, Oklahoma State, UCLA, Arizona, LSU, Purdue, Georgia, and Baylor. I think Kansas State may offer soon as well. I currently have no leader nor do I know where will my official visits will be taken."

Morgan (6-3, 190, 4.4) has made one unofficial visit so far. "I have been on an unofficial visit to Texas," he said. "I had a chance to speak to Coach Brown, Coach Chambers, and Coach Chizik. I had an opportunity to tour the facilities. It was great."

UT Recruiting Coordinator/Tight Ends Coach Bruce Chambers is recruiting Morgan for the Horns. "Coach Chambers is a cool guy and is real friendly," he said. "Coach Brown also seems to be a great guy... I like him."

Morgan plans on camping at three schools this summer: "I'll be attending camps at Texas, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M."

What factors will play into his decision? "I want to go to a school that has a good program, and one that is in a good environment. Distance won't factor much into my decision," he said.

Morgan is a very versatile LB who benches 270 and cleans 205. He had an amazing season last year with 98 tackles, 18 sacks, 7 forced fumbles, and 1 blocked punt for a TD in Skyline's 7-4 campaign that included a first round loss in the 5A State Playoffs. Morgan is also currently qualified as he carries a 3.05 GPA and an 840 SAT score.
