Recruiting: Houston ATH Eyes Texas

Houston Yates ATH Orie Lemon is a prospect that can play on both sides of the ball. He has seen action at QB, LB and DE. Last season, the 6-1, 224-pounder was the general of a team that finished 10-3 with a third-round loss to Marshall HS in the 4A Texas State Playoffs.

Currently, Lemon holds two offers. "I have been offered by Texas and Houston," he said. Lemon was offered by Texas through his school counselor who received word of the offer from Defensive Ends Coach Oscar Giles.

"Coach Giles is recruiting me from Texas," Lemon said. "I think he is an all-around good guy." Orie said he hasn't had a chance to talk to Texas Head Coach Mack Brown yet.

The Houston standout made a trip to the Forty Acres. "I have been on one unofficial visit so far. I attended the Texas Junior Day. It was a great trip. I really enjoyed it," he said.

Asked who led for his services Lemon said two schools ("Texas and Arkansas") are sticking out right now with the local hometown Houston Coogs also receiving a lot of interest from Lemon.

"I’ve been looking at Arkansas a lot and they’re recruiting me as an athlete. And, I’ve been looking at Texas a lot, too, just like Arkansas, and they’re recruiting me as an athlete."

UH is recruiting Lemon at QB, where he prefers to be recruited at and prefers to suit up at in college.

What kind of school is Orie looking for? "I want to attend a school that has very good academic programs, and a good football program. I would also like the chance to play early and distance will play no factor in my decision. I'll go wherever I can play."

Camp Agenda: "I hope to attend a Texas, LSU, and Oklahoma camp this summer. I'm not sure right now though."
