Horns To Host Regional; Seedings Announced Monday

The NCAA announced Sunday the 16 host sites for the NCAA Regionals which begin later this week, and as expected, Texas will be a host site for the fourth straight season and the 34th time overall. The Horns earned an at-large bid to the Tournament along with its hosting duties.

The other 15 regional host schools and NCAA Baseball Championship participants are: Arizona State (33-22), Baylor (39-21), Cal St. Fullerton (41-14), Clemson (39-21), Florida (40-20), Florida State (50-18), Georgia Tech (41-16), LSU (38-20), Long Beach State (36-20), Miami (Fla.) (38-17-1), Mississippi (44-17), Nebraska (51-13), Oregon State (41-9), Tennessee (41-19) and Tulane (50-9).

The entire 64-team field, including the tournament's top eight seeds, will be announced on ESPN Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. Texas (45-14) is a strong candidate for one of the tourney's top eight seeds, which would ensure the Horns of hosting at the Disch both a regional and, with a regional championship, a super regional. UT is currently in the top eight in all the major rankings (No. 3, 5 and 5) and in the simulated RPI (No. 3 through Saturday's NCAA action).
