Big 12 Title Game: It's Texas-Colorado

Texas will makes its fourth Championship Game appearance over the first 10 years of the Big 12 conference versus Colorado, which is making its fourth appearance in five years. The Buffs "earned" their berth despite losing two straight to close out the regular season. UT and CU will tee it up at noon next Saturday, Dec. 3 at Reliant Stadium in Houston.

South champ Texas enters the contest with a perfect regular season mark of 11-0 (8-0 in the Big 12) while North champ Colorado comes in at 7-4 (5-3).

The Horns smashed the Buffs earlier this season in Austin, dominating the then-No. 24-ranked Colorado 42-17. (Click here for game story.) After that Oct. 15 contest, CU reeled off three straight wins to improve to 7-2, but has since dropped a 30-16 decision at Iowa State and, Friday, a 30-3 debacle at home to Nebraska. Texas, of course, has run the table, including Friday's 40-29 win at A&M.

The title game will also be a rematch of the 2001 game when the 10-1 Horns, who had blasted the Buffs during the regular season by 34, lost 39-37 in Dallas at Texas Stadium, denying the team a potential national championship game berth. A spot in the national title game on Jan. 4 in the Rose Bowl will again be on the line for Texas next Saturday.
