Gibson: 'I'll be back at Texas next season.'

After the Longhorn's annual banquet Monday night, sophomore guard Daniel Gibson said he will not enter the NBA Draft. Gibson said that while he'll be in the NBA someday, he won't be there next year.

"I'm going to be there one day, but I want it to be the right time when I do it," said Gibson. "I'll be back at Texas next season."

Gibson said that the possibility of winning a national title is a key reason for his return.

"I want to be known for winning basketball games," said Gibson, "and right now I've still got some work to be done. So, I'll be back to get it done."

Gibson's father, Byron Gibson, has publicly indicated that Daniel wants to play point guard again after switching between point and shooting guard this past season, but Daniel said he's willing to play either.

"I've played two positions all my life," said Gibson. "So, I'm going to play where the team needs me."

Junior forward PJ Tucker still hasn't decided whether or not he'll return to Texas next season and says he's going to explore his options.
