Irby is Going to be a Longhorn

Blaine Irby, a 6-foot-3, 235-pound tight end/linebacker prospect from Saint Bonaventure High School in Ventura, Calif., verbally committed to the Texas Longhorns over Arizona State Thursday. "I'm going to be a Longhorn," Irby told Scout.com.

"I felt comfortable there," he added. "I loved the coaches and the campus."

He was recruited as athlete by Texas, but we believe his future will be either at tight end or h-back. Scout.com recently ranked Irby as the No. 8 TE in the country. Irby said he's '100 percent' committed and the only official visit he'll take will be to Austin.

"I'm kind of relieved to get the process over," Irby said.
