Aldridge Drafted by Bulls, Traded to Blazers

Former University of Texas forward LaMarcus Aldrige was drafted No. 2 overall in the NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls...and was proptly traded. According to reports, Aldridge will be suiting up for Portland Trailblazers next season.

LaMarcus Aldridge strided to the podium and put on a Chicago Bulls hat, but already knew that he likely would not be heading to the windy city. is reporting that the Bulls and the Blazers have agreed on a deal that will send Aldridge to Portland for the former LSU forward Tyrus Thomas (who was the No. 4 overall pick), forward Viktor Khryapa and future considerations.

Khryapa was the 22nd pick in the 2004 by the New Jersey Nets and was then traded to the Trail Blazers. The 6-foot-9 forward injured his left foot while playing in the Rocky Mountain Revue and missed most of his rookie season. Khryapa averaged 5.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game last season.
