"I committed this morning even though I have known for a while that I wanted to go to Texas," said Hardeman moments ago. "It was a tough decision between Texas, Miami, Oklahoma and Arkansas. But I realized it is the place for me. I just sat down and said 'enough fooling around.' I like the atmosphere, Coach (Mack) Brown, and they have great support. The Texas team is like a big family. Texas is the best team in the country and I want to play for the best team in the country. I can also get a great education too."
Last season as a junior, Hardeman rushed for 1,358 yards and 11 touchdowns. Despite Texas having one of the nation's best young backs in Cedric Benson, the competition doesn't bother Mr. Hardeman.
"He is an awesome back that I love to watch. In fact, I study his tapes. I hope I can go there and the two of us can get along and form a great friendship. I can't wait to play alongside Cedric."
