Keon Furtch: 2008 Athlete Likes Texas Schools

Many of the schools in Texas are not only focused on this year's crop of seniors but are also looking forward to the class of 2008. Paris junior wide receiver Keon Furtch has displayed the athleticism to become one of the states best playmakers. He is gathering interest from many colleges throughout the nation because of his game breaking ability on the football field.

"I would pick any Texas school with a good team. I think that the Texas schools have some of the best programs in the nation. I just like Texas," Keon Furtch said. "I would like to stay close to home. OU is also a good distance."

The 6-foot-3, 193 pound Furtch runs the 40-yard dash in a blazing 4.49 seconds. Due to his speed and quickness, he is also used as a return man for his high school team. Several schools like what they have seen from Furtch.

"I have heard from Texas A&M and OU," Furtch said. "I have gotten a couple of letters from Texas El Paso and Michigan as well."

Furtch recently made a trip to Norman to attend the Sooners camp.

"I came back from OU a couple of weeks ago. I think that is the only camp I've been to. I've been ripping and running and going different places. I have been pretty busy with football. The camp was more of a showing around, but the only one I went to was OU."

Furtch's talent is not limited to the football field. He is also being recruited for his ability in basketball.
