Adren Dorsey: 2008 DT likes a Pac-10 school

John Tyler defensive tackle Adren Dorsey could be one of the top prospects in the state of Texas for the class of 2008. He has spent most of his career playing on the defensive line. However, Dorsey is excited about receiving the opportunity to play tight end during his junior season. One of the big schools in Texas is already paying him a lot of attention.

"So far, Texas is the only school I'm hearing from," Adren Dorsey said. "I'm interested in Southern Cal, Virginia Tech, LSU, Washington State, Miami, and Oklahoma."

Dorsey does have an overall leader. He thinks his athletic ability could best be utilized at USC.

"Southern Cal," Dorsey said. "I like the spread offense that they run. They go to their tight ends a little more. That is what I like about them."

Dorsey's answer was a little surprising. With his size and experience on the defensive line, he would probably be a better fit at the defensive tackle position on the next level. Dorsey doesn't know which position he is being recruited to play right now, but he does have a preference.

"I would rather play tight end," Dorsey said. "I like blocking. I can block real well. I'm mobile, I can catch, and I can run pretty fast for my size."

The 6-foot-4, 280 pound Dorsey runs the 40-yard dash in 4.8 seconds. Over the summer, he enjoyed participating in football camp at Texas A&M. Dorsey would like to go to quite a few games in the fall including a trip to Austin to check out the Longhorns in action.
