Humble High Prospects

Humble High School in Texas is off to a very impressive start. Their roster is loaded of talent, and several members from the class of 2008 are already getting noticed. Head Coach Walt Beasley weighed in on his impressive group of juniors.

The 6-foot-0, 185-pound Jarret Malone leads this group. He plays running back at Humble and sometimes splits out at wide receiver. Malone is already receiving mail from a couple of different schools.

"He is a 4.5 guy," Beasley said. "He has good hands, and he can run the ball. He scored twice in the last game. He caught two touchdown passes."

"He has gotten several different letters from different schools," Beasley said.

The 6-foot-0, 225 pound Robert Parker plays defensive end. He is extremely athletic and quick off the ball. He would make a good pass rushing defensive end on the next level.

"He is a good player," Beasley said. "He has a 35-inch vertical jump and is very explosive. He runs a 4.6 forty."

Billy Bell has the size to make an impact on the next level from the safety position. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound Bell runs the 40-yard dash in 4.59 seconds.

"He is real physical," Beasley said. "He is a real physical player. He's a hitter."

Jessie Hernandez anchors the offensive line from his center spot. The 6-foot-1, 245-pound Hernandez brings intelligence and quickness to the football field.

"He's quick and very smart," Beasley said. "He has a 3.85 GPA."

The 5-foot-11, 225-pound Justin Weinand also plays defensive end at Humble. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.8 seconds.

"He is quick and aggressive," Beasley said.

Humble has started the 2006 campaign with a 2-0 record. They came away victorious against both Jersey Village and Eisenhower. They play Spring High School at home this Friday.
