Mike Littleton Shines at Ball High

Ball High School in Galveston (Texas) is home to a very talented free safety prospect. Mike Littleton put up big numbers as a sophomore and a lot is expected out of him this year. He is already receiving mail from several Big 12 schools. Head Coach Ron Holmes spoke very highly of Littleton and one of his teammates.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Mike Littleton has been making a lot of noise in Galveston's first three games. He has already intercepted five passes this season continuing his success from last year. He was an all-district selection as a sophomore.

"Mike is like a coach on the football field. He makes all the adjustment calls on the defensive side of the ball," Holmes said. "He made first team all-district unanimously as a sophomore. He already has five picks right now. I don't know his exact stats from last year, but I think he had four interceptions and a couple of knockdowns. He is very intelligent in the classroom and on the football field."

Littleton is already hearing from a number of schools mainly located in the Big 12. Coach Holmes rattled off a couple of the schools that are showing interest in his star free safety.

"Right now, he has literature from Oklahoma State, Kansas and Kansas State," Holmes said. "And here is one from one from the University of Connecticut."

Coach Holmes also has another talented junior prospect on his roster. The 5-foot-9, 170 pound Kevin Matthews is a speedster with 4.5 speed. He is an excellent return specialist and also plays running back and wide receiver on the offensive side of the ball.

"He made all-district last year as a kick return/punt return specialist." Holmes said.

The Ball Tornadoes have started the season with a 2-1 record. They play their first district contest against Alvin High School this Friday.
