Paris offensive lineman Stephen Good was in Dallas over the weekend for the highly anticipated Red River Shootout. This was the second time in the past two years that he has attended the annual rivalry game between Texas and Oklahoma. This has given Good the luxury of watching the game from the perspective of both sides.
"I went there last year, but I sat on Oklahoma
's side this year," Stephen Good
said. "It was a little different. The chants and stuff like that were different. It was just as loud and was pretty much the same as last year."
Several other junior prospects attended the game yesterday including Good's high school teammate Keon Furtch. Also at the game were Gilmer prospects, Justin Johnson and David Snow.
Good's recruitment has heated up considerably over the past couple of weeks. He already has offers from Texas A&M, UTEP, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, and Ole Miss.
About a month ago, Oklahoma was a strong favorite to ink Good's signature on signing day for the class of 2008. He has not changed his tune much but is focusing most of his attention on his junior season.
"I am still really high on Oklahoma, but right now I am just focused on my junior season," Good said. "I will probably make a decision sometime over the summer before my senior year."
Paris High School is enjoying a very good start to the 2006 season. They have started the season 4-1 behind strong performances from their two outstanding junior prospects (Good and Furtch).
