Veterans report to Forty Acres
The varsity will join the 24-man true freshman class (which makes up the NCAA-mandated 105-player limit prior to the first day of classes) for a team meeting tonight and both groups will go through orientation on Friday before they hit the field for UT's first full squad workout on Saturday morning at Denius Fields. "Obviously this group of veterans is excited to get things started," Mack Brown said Thursday afternoon. "A lot of them have been here all summer and several of the guys have been out at the freshmen workouts the past two days. Today's reporting day is what we have been waiting for since the spring game. We have everyone here and the guys have tomorrow off to focus on academics and to get acquainted with the newcomers. We'll then get down to business on the field Saturday morning."
