Keon Furtch: Back from Red River Shootout

Paris wide receiver Keon Furtch attended the Red River Shootout this past weekend in Dallas. He was very impressed with the fans on both sides and the atmosphere inside the stadium. Furtch raved about his visit and updated where he stands as far as recruiting goes.

"It was awesome. I liked it. It was crazy," Keon Furtch said. "Texas fans were hollerin'. Oklahoma fans were hollerin'. I've never been in an atmosphere like that. It was pretty cool."

Furtch went to the game with his teammate, Stephen Good. He didn't get a chance to talk to any of the current players on the Texas roster or any of the coaches because he arrived at the game late.

"I made it a little late. When I got there, the band was starting to play. They (players and coaches) had already gone in the locker room. I would have loved to have talked with some of them though," Furtch stated.

The 6-foot-3, 193 pound Furtch is putting together a successful junior season at Paris. He brings athleticism and speed to the football field and has helped Paris to a 4-1 record. Furtch has not received any offers, but it is still early. He knows that he would like to stay close to the Lone Star State.

"Well I can't really say who my favorites are right now, but it will probably be somewhere close," Furtch said.

Last month, he stated that he would love to play for any of the major Texas schools. He also likes Oklahoma.
