Aundre Dean: Explosive RB at Katy

Katy High School is home to one of the most talented junior running backs in the state of Texas. Aundre Dean is putting together a very successful season for the Tigers' offense. He is a hard-nosed runner and is a tough assignment for any defense. Head Coach Gary Joseph talked about his star running back.

"He is a great competitor," Joseph said. "He catches the ball well and makes a lot of yards after contact. So he can break tackles."

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Dean uses a combination of speed and power to dominate opposing defenses. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds. He has put up good numbers through the first four games of his junior season.

"He has 774 yards rushing in four games on 117 carries," Joseph said. "They have been tough yards too. I don't have my stats here with me, but I think he has scored eight touchdowns."

Dean has not received any scholarship offers yet, but a lot of schools are starting to show interest including the Texas Longhorns.

"They have been looking at him," Joseph said. "I talked to one of their coaches, and they said they were going to come down for one of our games and watch him."

Katy is one of the most talented schools that Texas has to offer. The Tigers are undefeated this season and are currently ranked number seven in 5A. They will take on Alief Hastings High School this Friday night at Crump Stadium in Houston.
