Durant Tabbed as Freshman of the Year

The Big 12 preseason awards are out and the only Longhorn on the list is true freshman forward Kevin Durant.

Longhorn 5-star freshman Kevin Durant is the preseason Big 12 Freshman of the Year. Durant averaged 23.6 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.6 blocks his senior year at Montrose Christian in Suitland, Md. Durant is also an All-Big 12 Preseason Honorable Mention selection.

The preseason player of the year honor is split between a pair of Kansas Jayhawks, Brandon Rush and Julian Wright.

Texas A&M continues to develop it's basketball program, as two Aggies are on the all-conference team. Acie Law and Joseph Jones of Texas A&M made the list, along with Rush, Wright, Jarrius Jackson of Texas Tech and Richard Roby of Colorado.

Roby, Rush and Jackson are all returning All-Big 12 First Team members from last season. A tie in the voting created an additional position on this year's preseason squad.
