Early Offer for Alfred Dupree

Skyline High School in Dallas has one of the most star-studded defensive units in the entire state of Texas. Junior defensive end Alfred Dupree brings a mean streak to the football field and plays the game with extreme aggression. Dupree has already picked up an offer from one of the most prestigious programs in the Big 12.

"Well right now, I would have to say that Oklahoma is my favorite because they were the first to offer me," Alfred Dupree said. "Supposedly, Kansas State has offered too, but I haven't heard anything about it."

The 6-foot-3.5, 205-pound Dupree is a physical freak. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.57 seconds and squats 480 pounds. He is already hearing from a number of the top programs across the nation.

The Oklahoma Sooners are showing the most interest in Dupree and have cemented their position as his top school. He is also hearing from Texas A&M, LSU, Florida State and Notre Dame.

Dupree had the opportunity to check out the annual rivalry game between Texas and Oklahoma earlier this year.

"I went to the Red River Shootout. It was crazy. I have never been to a game that crazy before. The people really got into the game. They have a lot of school spirit," Dupree said.

Dupree is looking for a winning program with a defensive scheme to fit his style of play. He is a very team oriented player and said that early playing time was not important to him.

Dupree has helped lead Skyline to a 7-3 record and a birth in the first round of the playoffs. They play Mesquite High School this Saturday at Mesquite's E.H. Hanby Stadium. Dupree hopes to make an impact rushing the passer using his quickness and speed.
