With the trend of tall receivers emerging in college football over the past couple of years, the need for bigger corners has almost become a necessity. Dulles High School in Sugar Land, Texas, is home to a very good cover corner with great size. Head Coach Jim Creech talked about Ugo Okpara's ability on the football field.
"He is a cover corner. We play him in a lot of man. He has good speed, size and a lot of range. A lot of colleges are looking for big corners like Ugo. Oscar Giles (Texas
' defensive ends coach) is well aware of him. He is in their database," Creech said.
The 6-foot-2, 185-pound Ugo Okpara is currently a junior at Dulles High School. He is already getting mail from all over the nation.
"He is getting letters from everybody, but nobody has really come by to recruit him," Creech said. "To be honest with you, I don't really know if Texas is recruiting him. If he gets a letter from them, it will be the first one."
Creech did mention Florida, Tennessee, USC and Notre Dame as schools that have been in contact with Okpara through the mail.
Okpara helped lead Dulles to an 8-3 season this year. He recorded 43 total tackles, 11 assists, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and two passes batted down during the year. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds.
