Johnson has been very active this fall attending several games within the state of Texas.
"I have been to two A&M games and a U of H game when they played Oklahoma State," Johnson said. "U of H won pretty good, but I mainly went to watch Oklahoma State. I was very impressed with the two A&M games even though they lost both of them. The first one was against Tech. They lost, but I came away impressed. The second game they played Oklahoma."
On top of his two scholarship offers, Johnson is in regular contact with several other coaching staffs in the Texas area.
"I'm getting a lot of letters from all over the nation. The coaches that I have relationships with and have talked to on the phone are from A&M, Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Baylor. I have talked to the Tech, Oklahoma State and A&M coaches the most," Johnson said.
Johnson has also been in contact with the Texas Longhorn coaching staff.
"I have talked to the coach a few times. They know who I am and have seen my film. They have been sending a couple of letters as well," Johnson said.
Nederland High School is still alive in the playoffs and came out of the first round with a very impressive victory.
"We are doing pretty good. We finished third in the district with a 5-5 record. In the first round of the playoffs last Saturday, we beat Galina Park 48-7," Johnson stated.
