2007 Football Schedule Set

Texas has completed its 2007 football schedule by adding Arkansas State as its September 1 home-opener, a source inside Texas Men's A.D. confirmed.

Arkansas State would round-out a non-conference slate that includes the return of TCU to Austin for the first time since the breakup of the Southwest Conference in 1995. The Rice Owls, bowl-bound for the first time since 1961 under Offensive Coordinator Major Applewhite, are slated for a September 22 appearance at Royal-Memorial Stadium. Texas also travels to Central Florida on September 15.

Arguably, the most intriguing three-week stretch of the season begins with Texas' Big 12 Conference opener at home against Kansas State on September 29. The Horns follow that with their traditional border war against Oklahoma in Dallas on October 6, before traveling to face Gene Chizik's Iowa State team in Ames. Texas' first Big 12 road game pits its former Defensive Coordinator against players Chizik coached just three weeks ago.

The only game that currently has a set kickoff time is the regular season finale at Texas A&M, slated for 2:30 p.m. (CST) on November 23.

Future Longhorn schedules include a home-and-away series with Arkansas (2008, 2009) and with UCLA (2010, 2011).
