Michael Huey enjoyed hanging out and getting to know the current members on the Longhorn roster and the kids from his current recruiting class.
"Well, I met quite a bit of them. I even got to talk to some of the seniors which was pretty cool," Huey said. "They gave me a host for the weekend and it was Steve Moore. He was friends with Britt Mitchell who I went to high school with. We just hung out and toured the campus."
The UT football banquet was held Friday night. Huey had a great time at the event and had nothing but good things to say about it.
"The banquet was real top notch and first class," Huey said. "The food, people and coaches were just great.
Just about all of the commits got a chance to talk to members from the Texas Longhorn coaching staff including head coach Mack Brown on Saturday.
"I got to talk to him. He was a real nice guy," Huey said. "They said that they were excited about me getting in."
Huey will be getting in a little bit earlier than most of the members of his current class. He plans on enrolling for the spring semester, which will allow him to take part in spring practice at the university.
"I am going to graduate early. School starts there on January 16th, so I will probably move in on the 14th or 15th," Huey said.
Huey is ranked as a four-star prospect and the number eight offensive guard in the nation by Scout.com. One thing is for sure, Huey is very comfortable with his decision to play football at the University of Texas.
"It's a great place. It is more of a home to me than a school," Huey said. "Everyone has just accepted me with open arms."
