Delgado: Staying Close to Home?

Killeen Ellison quarterback Ivan Delgado may have the strongest arm inside the Lone Star State in the class of 2008. Two Big 12 schools have already started showing strong interest in the junior signal caller. Delgado would love nothing more than to play close to the state he grew up in.

"Right now, I'm talking to Oklahoma State still and Texas A&M," Ivan Delgado said. "They are making me feel real comfortable and not rushing me into anything."

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Delgado also mentioned Texas and Texas Tech as schools that he is interested in. Location will be one of the most important factors in Delgado's decision. He also wants to keep playing his natural position on the next level.

Delgado has not received any scholarship offers, but they should start rolling in real soon. He has put together back to back outstanding seasons at Ellison. Delgado helped lead the Eagles to a playoff birth during his junior campaign.

"We went 8-3. We lost in the first round of the playoffs to Leander," Delgado said.
