Working on Getting the Horns One More

SAN ANTONIO — Texas cornerback commitment Curtis Brown talks about Monday's practice, his efforts to recruit his roommate Christian Scott to the Longhorns and his arrival in Austin later this month during an exclusive interview with Inside Texas from U.S. Army All-American Bowl week.

IT: How do you feel you practiced today and how much of an adjustment was it playing defense?

Curtis Brown: I did all right. It was kind of foreign out there as a cornerback. I hadn't been back there in two years. I'm so used to offense. I've got to let offense go, because I'm playing defense now.

IT: Have you had a chance to talk to Christian Scott about him possibly attending Texas?

Brown: Shhhhh. I'm talking to him. He's listening. He's my roommate so we'll see what happens. I'm talking to him. That's all I can do.

IT: What player impressed you the most during practice today?

Brown: Ryan Mallett. He's really got an arm on him. He's really got an arm. I broke on one of his balls and I swatted it and it hit my palm and my wrist jammed. That hurt.

IT: You are one of several Texas commitments who will be arriving in Austin next week. How does that feel?

Brown: I'm looking forward to it. I'm really ready to get there and get after it.
