Another All-American Looking at the Horns?

SAN ANTONIO -- Irving wide receiver Ron Brooks talks about his interest in Texas, his remaining official visits and whether he would consider playing cornerback in college during an exclusive interview with Inside Texas from U.S. Army All-American Bowl week.

IT: Do you have any interest in Texas?

Ron Brooks: I like Texas, but they want me to switch to cornerback. I'd really rather play at receiver, which if they'd let me play, I'd probably go to Texas. If I did go to cornerback, I'd probably go to Texas.

IT: Have you visited Texas?

Brooks: I went on an unofficial before the school year started and to the spring game.

IT: Do you have any official visits remaining?

Brooks: I have two, LSU and Florida.

IT: Is it likely that you will attend Texas?

Brooks: Probably not. I don't have an offer.

IT: So Texas would only offer you if you agreed to play cornerback, right?

Brooks: Only as a corner.

IT: Why aren't you more open to playing cornerback instead of wide receiver?

Brooks: I'd rather play receiver, because that's what I've known all my life. For me to switch my position, I don't know if I'd do it 100 percent, because I feel like I should be on the offensive side of the ball.
