Dominick Maddox Surfaces at Combine

SAN ANTONIO -- Another kid who showed up at the U.S. Army National Combine without much prior recognition was Dominick Maddox from Judson High School in Converse, Texas. He is being recruited to play safety on the next level and already has an offer from a rising Texas school. Maddox talked about his early offer and the other schools that he is interested in.

"I would probably say LSU, Florida, The University of Miami, Virginia Tech, Texas, Oklahoma and OSU," Dominick Maddox said. "I get letters from OSU all the time."

UTEP has already extended a scholarship offer to Maddox. However, he made it very clear that staying in the Lone Star State is not one of his top priorities.

"I'm not really a big fan of the Texas schools in general. If you are talking about me picking a college to go to, I would prefer to look at their defense. If there defense is nationally ranked, that is where I want to go," Maddox said.

The 5-foot-11, 189-pound Maddox had a very good showing during the three-on-three competition Friday night. He was selected to compete with the top group in the final session of the Friday night drill.

Maddox had 51 tackles during his junior season at Judson High School.
