Adren Dorsey: Big DT Likes Longhorns

SAN ANTONIO -- One of the toughest positions to fill in any recruiting class is inside the trenches at defensive tackle. John Tyler High School in Tyler, Texas, is home to one of the best that the Lone Star State has to offer in the form of Adren Dorsey. The Longhorns were one of the first schools to contact Dorsey early in the recruiting process.

"I just want to attend the school where my cousin graduated from, Earl Campbell. I want to see what he liked about it," Adren Dorsey said about Texas.

Dorsey is hearing from schools all over the nation. He does not hold any offers at this point in time, but they are definitely on their way. He ran down a list of the schools that are currently high on his list.

"Miami, Michigan, OSU and Texas," Dorsey said.

Texas is the only school in the area that Dorsey mentioned. He wants to keep his options open and check out what the different areas around the country have to offer.

"I just want to experiment in different areas," Dorsey said.

The 6-foot-4, 280-pound Dorsey registered four and half sacks during his junior season at John Tyler. He talked about what he brings to the table at the defensive tackle position.

"I read and react very well. I'm aggressive," Dorsey said.

Dorsey made the five-hour drive down to San Antonio with one of his coaches where he had the opportunity to compete against some of the top offensive linemen in the country. He performed well in the combine and will be one of the top defensive line prospects in the 2008 recruiting class.
