Final Poll Report: Lucky 13

After their December 30th Alamo Bowl victory over Iowa, the Texas Longhorns finish the season ranked 13th the final polls.

Texas finishes in the Top 15 for the seventh consecutive season with their No. 13 ranking in both the final AP and Coaches' Polls.

The Florida Gators finish in the top spot in both polls, holding all but a single first place vote. Their opponent in the BCS National Championship Game, Ohio State, comes in second, just ahead of the LSU Tigers, who whipped Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl, 41-14, the same score as the Gators trouncing of the Buckeyes. USC comes in at fourth in both polls after their Rose Bowl win over Michigan.

The only team receiving another first place vote was Boise State. The undefeated Broncos got one No. 1 vote in the AP Poll, where they're ranked fifth and followed by Louisville, Wisconsin, Michigan, Auburn and West Virginia to round out the Top 10. In the Coaches' Poll, Wisconsin sits in the No. 5 spot, followed by Boise State, Louisville, Auburn, Michigan and West Virginia.

Aside from the Longhorns, the only other Big 12 team to finish in the Top 25 was the Oklahoma Sooners, Boise State's Fiesta Bowl victim. OU finished the year with an 11-3 record and ranked No. 11 in both polls. Another Texas school, TCU, also finished in the Top 25, sitting at No. 21 in the Coaches' and No. 22 in the AP.
