Lamar Harris: Attending Several Junior Days

Gilmer High School in Texas has been churning out Division I athletes left and right the past couple of years. Gilmer has three big time prospects from the class of 2008, and Lamar Harris could possibly be the best of the bunch. Harris talked about upcoming junior days and updated his recruitment.

"It's (recruiting) going good. I think I am going to get an offer from Michigan, and I already have one from A&M," Harris said.

Harris is hearing from schools all over the nation, but a Texas Longhorn offer is on the top of list.

"I hope Texas offers," Harris said. "I haven't been hearing from them much lately, but you know how Texas is. They will not show much interest and then they will start showing a lot."

Several other schools are in the running to obtain Harris. He ran down a list of his top schools.

"Texas, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Michigan, Miami and Florida," Harris said.

What does Harris like about the two Texas schools?

"I just like them. I guess they make me fell like I'm at home," Harris said.

Harris has been invited to a couple of junior days already and expects a Texas invite in the near future.

"I have been invited to Texas A&M and Oklahoma," Harris said. "I will probably go to Texas' junior day too."

Like Curtis Brown, Harris was mainly used on the offensive side of the ball this year. He caught 48 passes for 800 yards and 16 touchdowns during his junior year. In limited time on the defensive side of the ball, he recorded 15 tackles and three interceptions, two of which were taken back for touchdowns. Harris is being recruited to play both offense and defense on the next level.
