IT Blog: Greg Davis...Average OC, Great HC?
Inside Texas' Ross Lucksinger reexamines the old question of how good Greg Davis really is and argues that the Texas offensive coordinator would actually make a better head coach than coordinator.

Audio: Matt Hill
Texas freshman forward Matt Hill came to Austin from Southeast High School in Lincoln, Neb. On Wednesday, Hill and the Horns return go to Lincoln to take on the Nebraska Corn Huskers. Hill talked with Longhorn beat reporters about his return home, the Villanova loss, his hair and more.

Tired Longhorns at Nebraska on Wednesday
Austin American-Statesman
Already weary from travel, the Longhorn men will play their third straight road game Wednesday at Nebraska. Big 12 basketball teams are accustomed to facing two consecutive road games, but the Longhorns sandwiched a non-conference visit to Villanova in between trips to Oklahoma State and Nebraska. The Villanova scheduling was set by Texas. But Longhorns coach Rick Barnes, noting that marquee non-conference matchups are good for the league, said it would have been nice for the Big 12 not to schedule Texas for Oklahoma State and Nebraska before and after the weekend trip to Villanova.

UT unhappy about back-to-back road games
Dallas Morning News
Texas is the only team in the Big 12 playing three consecutive road games during conference play. The Longhorns (13-5, 3-1 Big 12), who dropped out of the Top 25, have lost back-to-back games at Oklahoma State and Villanova. They play at Nebraska (12-5, 1-2) Wednesday night.

Barnes bemoans young UT's inconsistency
San Antonio Express-News
Back before the season began, Texas coach Rick Barnes surveyed his freshman-filled roster and admitted the obvious: He had no idea what to expect from his players. Three months, 18 games and a Coney Island roller coaster's-worth of ups and downs later, Barnes says he still doesn't know. "All I know," he says, "is you're never as good as you think you are, and you're never as bad as you think you are."

Augustin's passing opens up opportunities for Texas to win
Daily Texan
If you were ever to play in a pick-up basketball game with D.J. Augustin, you'd better know where he is on the court at all times. Your head had better be on a swivel, and don't think for a second you could take a play off. Because if you're not ready, Augustin can wake you up in a hurry with one of his passes - especially if it's one off the side of your head. It's rare to see a player like Augustin in today's game. Someone who actually prefers to pass over taking the shot. Someone who understands the true value of the assist. But like I said, just make sure your eyes stay open.

Football recruiting:

Aaron Williams to Attend Texas Junior Day
Aaron Williams was one of the most impressive defensive backs at the U.S. Army Junior Combine in San Antonio, Texas. He reported one early offer when he reported to the combine, but he has been receiving and abundance of recruiting attention from some other top tier programs.

Lamar Harris: Attending Several Junior Days
Gilmer High School in Texas has been churning out Division I athletes left and right the past couple of years. Gilmer has three big time prospects from the class of 2008, and Lamar Harris could possibly be the best of the bunch. Harris talked about upcoming junior days and updated his recruitment.

Uncovering Jeffrey Fuller
McKinney Boyd's Jeffrey Fuller is one of the most athletic junior wide receivers in state of Texas. Unfortunately, he was not able to showcase all of his skills in the run oriented offense employed by McKinney Boyd. However, this does not mean that Fuller is flying under the radar. He has already racked up three scholarship offers.
