The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Furtch received a scholarship offer from Texas A&M a couple of weeks ago. He attended A&M's first junior day over the weekend and came away impressed.
"I just came back from Texas A&M's junior day," Furtch said. "It was pretty good. A&M is a nice place to be. I got to talk to a couple of their coaches. I spent most of my time with Coach (Bob) DeBesse. I got to talk to Coach (Bill) Clay. We talked about the recent players that they have brought in and the type of players that they are looking for."
Furtch has been invited to several other junior days as well. He is trying to make arrangements to get up to Oklahoma in the next few weeks.
"I have been invited to Oklahoma's. A couple of other schools like SMU and different schools from around the area have invited," Furtch said.
"I wanted to be able to go this Saturday, but I have a game," Furtch said about attending Oklahoma's junior day. "I am going to try to make it up there next Saturday."
How much interest have the Texas Longhorns been showing Furtch?
"I haven't heard from them about a junior day yet," Furtch said. "I got a couple of camp letters (summer) in the mail or whatever."
