Dan Buckner: Headed to Texas Jr. Day

Allen, Texas junior Dan Buckner is without a doubt the most sought after wide receiver in the Lone Star State. He has already racked up ten scholarship offers and is going to several junior days over the next month. Where is Buckner headed?

"I'm going to try to make the Texas junior day on the 11th (February) and the Notre Dame one in March," Dan Buckner said. "I was going to go to the Oklahoma two weeks ago, but it got canceled and moved to this weekend. I am not going to be able to go."

Buckner has also been invited to attend junior days at Texas A&M, Texas Tech, LSU, Louisville and Arkansas. Several of these schools have already offered him a scholarship.

"I have scholarship offers from Oklahoma, Boston College, Texas Tech, Rice, Baylor, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Nebraska, Notre Dame and Louisville," Buckner said. "I have some schools saying they are going to offer, but I don't have a paper from them yet."

Florida, LSU and Texas are several schools that have been in contact with Buckner but have not given a written offer.

The coaches from Arkansas, Texas, Notre Dame and Oklahoma have been paying special attention to Buckner lately. Several coaches have been down to Allen to pay him a visit.

"Coach Weis actually came by last Wednesday. I didn't get a chance to talk to them though. Coach Stoops was here last Monday," Buckner said. "Coach Brown has never come by, but I have been talking to him on the phone and everything."
