Will Calhoun Attend Texas Junior Day?

Van's Jermie Calhoun is without a doubt one of the best running backs coming out of the class of 2008. Over the last few weeks, several questions have been raised as to whether the Texas Longhorns were going to go after Calhoun. Has he received an invitation to a Texas junior day?

"Well, Oklahoma invited me to their junior day this Saturday. I have been invited to SMU's junior day, and Texas wants me to come on the 25th," Calhoun said.

Calhoun confirmed that he will attend both junior days at Texas and Oklahoma but was unsure about going to SMU.

A member of the Texas coaching staff stopped by Van High School earlier this week to speak with Calhoun's coaches.

"It was Ken Rucker," Calhoun said when asked about the visit. "I didn't get to talk to him. He saw my highlight tape and everything. He said that I am a good running back, but they are just worried about my grades right now."

The 6-foot, 190-pound Calhoun currently holds offers from Kansas State, Ole Miss and Alabama. He rushed for 1,600 yards and 27 touchdowns on his way to earning First Team All-District and Honorable Mention Second Team All-State honors during his junior season.
