LaMichael James: Stock Rising

LaMichael James burst on to the scene when he led the underdog Liberty-Eylau Leopards to a first-round victory over a Gilmer team loaded with future stars. His stock increased throughout the playoffs as he continued to dominate on the way to a 3A state title. Liberty-Eylau Head Coach Pat Brady talked about his star running back.

"He has great speed and good vision with the ball in his hands," Brady said. "He is a good ball handler and has great hands."

Schools from all over the nation have been sending James mail for quite sometime, but three Big 12 schools have been showing the most interest.

"He is getting a look from the University of Texas, Oklahoma State and the University of Oklahoma. He gets information from everybody. He went to a Nike Camp last year and had a real good showing. They are just letters tough. He gets letters from Notre Dame, Indiana, Purdue, Kansas State and Arkansas, but I have only talked to the coaches from Texas, Oklahoma State and Oklahoma," Brady said.

Texas has invited James to an upcoming junior day, but it is still up in the air as to whether he will attend.

"We haven't made any arrangements yet. They have invited him to go, but I don't know if he will be able to make it," Brady said.
