Fitzhenry Commits

Texas' first Junior Day is off to a fast start. Giddings athlete Brock Fitzhenry was in Austin Sunday and quickly jumped on the opportunity to play football at the University of Texas. As soon as a scholarship offer was extended, Fitzhenry gladly committed.

"I went in his (Mack Brown's) office and he told me that they were offering me a scholarship. He said they were offering because I make good grades, I am a good person and I am a winner," Brock Fitzhenry said.

Fitzhenry arrived in Austin at about nine o'clock this morning and was committed by 10. The Giddings speedster had been in regular contact with Offensive Coordinator Greg Davis throughout his recruitment.

Fitzhenry was very impressed with the campus and facilities that the Longhorns have to offer.

"They are great. They have top of the line stuff," Fitzhenry said.

Texas was the first school to offer Fitzhenry a scholarship. He will likely play wide receiver on the next level.
