Keanon Cooper: Enjoys UT Junior Day

Skyline's Keanon Cooper was expecting to receive a scholarship offer at Texas' first junior day but came away empty handed. Despite the setback, Cooper had nothing but good things to say about the visit and plans on proving that he deserves a UT offer.

"No Sir," Keanon Cooper said when asked if he received an offer. "Throughout the week, I heard that they were going to offer, but when we got down there, they didn't."

"I'm really not sure," Cooper replied when asked if he expects an offer from Texas in the future. "I would love to go there. Hopefully, if they come and watch me in the spring, I can show them that I am worthy of playing for their organization."

Cooper says he is still wide open as far as recruiting goes. He is waiting for someone to extend a scholarship offer before he starts taking a serious look at any schools.

Cooper had nothing but good things to say about the trip as a whole.

"Hey man, I loved it. I enjoyed seeing the locker room and seeing how the team goes through the day. I enjoyed meeting the coaches and getting to know about the history behind the school," Cooper said.

Cooper got a chance to sit down with defensive backs coach Duane Akina and talk about the defensive back position at Texas.

"I talked to the defensive backs coach. I don't remember his name. We split up and had a position meeting. He talked about some of the principles of their defensive backs. He just talked about what they expect from the defensive backs in their organization," Cooper said.
