Cyrus Gray: Offers Rolling In

DeSoto's Cyrus Gray has been a very busy kid over the past few weeks. He attended junior days at Texas and Texas A&M each of the last two weekends. He already has seven scholarship offers and is expecting more in the next few days. However, Gray is keeping an open mind and letting other schools approach him before he makes a decision.

"It went good. It was something different. I had fun looking at the facilities and sitting down talking with Coach Fran," Cyrus Gray said about his visit to Texas A&M.

Gray already has offers from Oklahoma, Tulsa, Baylor, Arizona, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and SMU. Several others have jumped in and starting showing a lot of interest.

"My coach told me that Notre Dame called and asked for a copy of my transcript and for some of my game film," Gray said. "Wisconsin is probably going to offer me tomorrow. I have to talk to my coach tomorrow about it."

"I don't guess," Gray replied when asked if Alabama had offered. "They are in the process of evaluating or whatever."

When Gray attended Texas' first junior day two weeks ago, he left without a scholarship offer. The Texas coaching staff was waiting on his transcript to come in. Has he heard back from the Longhorns?

"I haven't heard back from them yet," Gray said. "I got to get in contact with Coach Chambers and talk to him and see what they think."

Gray has gotten a feel for some of the schools that have been recruiting him the last few weeks, but he is not ready to make a decision yet.

"Actually, I am still keeping my options open. I am waiting to see what the future is going to bring," Gray said.
